We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Linen Porter.
Job Purpose:
* To assist in the provision of an integrated portering service to the Trust and commercial customers.
* To ensure the needs of both the customer and the company are met within the agreed quantities and standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities of a Linen Porter
* Ensure laundry deliveries to the Hospital are received, checked, and delivered to the appropriate area.
* Assess the daily linen requirements for all wards/departments in your care to ensure that agreed stock levels are maintained.
* Maintain cleanliness of laundry trolleys and ensure they are retained in the correct location.
* Place daily orders to the processing facility for following days delivery.
* Follow work schedules to assist in the timely delivery of clean linen to wards and departments.
* Follow work schedules to assist in the collection of used linen from wards, departments, and theatres.
* Complete and maintain accurate paperwork for the wards/departments in your care.
* Ensure emergency linen requests from any ward/department within normal working hours are delivered to the wards within agreed timescales.
* Ensure linen is sorted and arranged for collection by the driver at the correct times.
* Discrepancies in deliveries are reported as soon as possible.
Requirements of a Linen Porter
* Experience of working within a highly customer-focused service environment.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff.
* Attention to detail.
* Flexible and able to react quickly to the needs of the customer & Elis.
* Self-motivated.
* Well spoken, clarity of speech, friendliness of tone, articulate.
* Patient, polite and courteous.
* Flexibility to work unsocial hours.
Work Schedule
42.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday - 6am - 2pm Saturday 7am-12pm occasional Sunday
Pay - Paid Weekly £11.94 uniform Provided.
DBS Check required (Paid for by us)
Overtime available
Must be flexible.
