Reporting to: Curriculum Team Leader - MC6
Salary: £17,051 - £25,124 per annum (actual salary)
Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
Contractual hours: 22.2 hours per week
Teaching hours: 518.4 annualised hours
Basis: Part time, Permanent
Pension: Teachers Pension Scheme

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Physics to join our MC6 A-Levels team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Physics professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.
MC6 is Middlesbrough College's thriving Sixth Form centre. MC6 has an extensive curriculum offer, with a broad range of A Level and Vocational Equivalents as part of our very popular 'Mix-It Up' study programme. We also offer full time study programmes in Applied Science and Forensic & Criminal Investigation, and adult programmes in Access to HE.
This purpose-built environment on the Middlesbrough College Campus provides students with a fantastic learning environment in which they can study, socialise, and develop new skills to help them progress. What You'll Be Doing:
As a Teacher of Physics, you will:
1. Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Physics sector.
2. Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in specific areas, e.g. Physics
3. Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
4. Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
6. Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.
What We're Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
1. Holds a minimum Level 3 Physics qualification (Essential) or a relevant Degree, and GCSEs in English and Maths.
2. Is a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.
3. Has current knowledge and experience in teaching Physics
4. Demonstrate effective classroom management, excellent time management, and strong communication skills.
5. Is proficient in preparing teaching materials using Information Learning Technology.

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 - Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
