An exciting opportunity to join the Business Benefits Solutions team as Business Analyst on a permanent basis, based in Darlington (Hybrid working).
Who we are
Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds.
Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.

Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
The role
This role will be responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. You will look to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and streamline processes across our organisation.

The person
We would love to hear from you if you have experience in business analysis and understand business analysis methodologies including Agile and Waterfall. You’ll be supporting and working alongside cross functional teams and will take a lead role when it comes to collaboration and the end-to-end project, therefore demonstrable stakeholder experience is essential. Previous experience of working within Financial Services would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential.
You will be working and supporting on numerous projects simultaneously as well as handling day-to-day requests from the business, so the ability to prioritise time effectively is essential. As a Business Analyst, you will be reporting and presenting findings to different levels of stakeholders and must take a collaborative and inclusive approach, including sharing best practice.
