Our client is a family business based in Redcar & Cleveland, in the North East of England.
They have operated as a successful precision machining business since 1963. They employ 65 people and have a strong order book in 2025, for marine, energy, defence, and commercial engineering sectors.
With their modern CNC machining facility, they specialise in precision machining of very large, heavy, complex components. They have an overhead lifting capacity of 72 tonnes, and a range of CNC horizontal and vertical borers (up to 12m milling, 7m diameter turning).
Due to growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced CNC Programmer, Setter, Operator (Machinist) for Horizontal Borer / Milling machine capacity.

Are you the right person for the job?
Apprentice trained (Machine Shop)
Experience with horizontal borers or milling machines in a range of sizes of components.
Able to set one-off jobs without assistance
Experience with components 1m and over
Measurement skills with manual equipment (dimensions and surface finish)
Able to read engineering drawings
All candidates will undergo a screening process which will include full reference checks and criminal activity screening.

What will your role look like?
To set, program, and operate large CNC horizontal borers to machine a range of castings, forgings, profiles, and fabrications, in various metals.
Working with the production support team, including planning engineer, machine shop supervisors, team leaders, quality management, and CNC manufacturing engineer, to work on interesting and challenging projects and meet our customers' high standards.
