Introduction
We require a Manufacturing Engineer to join our busy team based in Abercynon, South Wales.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the systems and processes required for introduction of new products or improving existing products systems and processes.
They must develop and maintain robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organisational core competencies. Ensures root cause and failure analysis is performed as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Working as part of a project team liaising with design, production, supply chain and quality departments to deliver projects on time and to a high-quality standard.
2. Identifying improvements in manufacturing processes and managing projects to implement process improvements
3. Lead the team in the achievement of the operational KPIs and budgeted requirements

5. Support the safe and effective use of people and equipment to achieve the daily/ weekly/ monthly production plan.
6. Work in conjunction with the Planning department to the TOC process to meet the requirements of the capacity plan in the optimal way.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Core Requirements
15. HNC/ HND or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
16. Fundamental knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA to influence Product definition / final form manufacture
17. Experience of manipulating and viewing 3D CAD data to extract information
18. Ability to interpret 2D drawings
19. Excellent knowledge of design for assembly/manufacture methodology
20. A clear understanding of how a manufacturing process should be configured to ensure stable and effective outputs.
21. Demonstrated ability to implement lean improvements in a structured way to continually improve the manufacturing performance.
22. Ability to identify and implement new technologies to add value to the existing processes.
23. Manage and control costs in line with budgets.
Desireable Skills and Experience
24. Previous experience of military and traction projects.
25. Experience in automation/robotics
26. Experience using CAD/CAM package
27. Six Sigma Qualification
28. Previous experience in connector or harness manufacturing.
29. Knowledge of our customers and their industry.

Our Recruitment Process
Initially we will reach out to you for an informal conversation about the role. This will allow you the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about TT, our site and our team. It will also give us the chance to learn more about you and your experience to date. At this point both parties have the opportunity to decide if they would like to continue with the process.
Formal Interviews will be held on site and include a tour of the facility.
Due to the specific projects TT Electronics Abercynon Supports we are unable to sponsor work visas for this role. Candidates will be required to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard Clearance and hold UK or US citizenship.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre and during employment drug and alcohol testing.
