Main duties of the job
Our therapy teams provide support to people who need extra help to allow them to get home safely following an illness or operation.
Our therapists use their professional expertise and clinical judgement to provide a safe environment to support patients to reach their goals.
* To manage a complex clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner
* To provide specialist clinical advice to staff within musculoskeletal physiotherapy services, working closely with Team Leaders
* To develop and maintain a high level of skill and knowledge in MSK Physiotherapy
* To work with the Team Leaders to ensure the attainment and maintenance of high clinical standards based on best evidence and with regard to NICE guidance
* To actively participate in the education and training of staff and students, taking a lead role in the organisation, implementation and evaluation of In Service Training programmes
* To participate in evidence-based projects, research and audit under the guidance of the Senior Clinical Lead
* To be actively involved in the running and future service development of outpatient group sessions as provided by the service e.g. Back rehabilitation Class, ESCAPE knee class, shoulder class and Pilates.

Essential
* Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
* Professional Registration with the Health Professions Council
* Evidence of postgraduate education in specialist clinical area
* Evidence of continued professional development appropriate to role
Desirable
* Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
* Membership of appropriate Special Interest Group(s)
* Accreditation for Clinical education
* Masters level in relevant area or willingness to work towards
Experience

* Significant experience working at Band 6/7 level in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy including substantial NHS experience
* Experience of supervising, teaching and appraising junior staff and students
* Clinical governance including quality, audit, outcome measures and training
