The Great Western Hospital are seeking a Nurse Associate to join the team on the Neonatal Unit.
Main duties of the job
As a band 4 Nurse Associate you will be working alongside an experienced team to provide care to a range of babies with a variety of conditions. Our Neonatal unit has 18 cots, which is comprised of 2 intensive cots, 4 high dependency cots and 12 special care cots. We are a designated Local Neonatal Unit, (Level 2) providing care for preterm babies from 27 weeks' gestation and for sick newborn babies. We also have a Transitional Care unit soon to have 8 beds.
Job responsibilities
1. To undertake the core competencies for a nurse associate.

26. Effectively liaise with all agencies including external who are providing support to families and children at home.

28. Supervision of support workers and student nurses.
29. Commitment to undertake required training.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Associate
* Evidence of personal portfolio
* Current NMC Registration
* Level 3 safeguarding
Experience
* Recent experience nursing children in an acute/community setting
* Current knowledge of developments in healthcare
* Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge and practice after qualification
* Level 3 safeguarding children
Knowledge and Skills
* Developed organisational skills
* Evidence of effective child protection and safeguarding working.
* Knowledge of clinical skills
* An understanding of the structure for the delivery for Community and social care services
