Who will you be working with?

By fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and a policy of openness and respect, they've been able to grow significantly. With continued expansion plans over the coming months, they're now inviting more enthusiastic engineers to join them on their journey.
What will you be doing?
As their Applications Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role throughout the entire customer lifecycle, starting from business development, moving through pre-sales technical advice, and continuing to project handover. Your involvement will be crucial at every stage to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project outcomes.
You'll collaborate closely with the Sales and Engineering Teams to craft and deliver compelling proposals. Your deep understanding of power system instrumentation will enable you to position Synaptec's technology as the optimal solution for customers' needs.
Customers are at the core of everything they do, and your role will reflect this commitment. You will engage in in-depth technical conversations with customers to fully understand their challenges and requirements. By leveraging your expertise, you'll help diagnose their problems and provide tailored solutions that demonstrate the unique value of Synaptec's technology.
To thrive in this role, you will have:

We're looking for someone who ideally possesses the technical know-how to host detailed conversations and understand the technical challenges that customers are facing. Ideally, you will have previous experience working in the substation, T&D, or power generation sectors.
Great communication and presentation skills
We're looking for someone with the ability to distil technical concepts simplistically, using media such as proposals, bids, presentations, case studies, conference papers, and meetings.
Proactivity
We're looking for a confident individual who enjoys working in a busy environment, handling multiple projects concurrently and working with great autonomy. Experience working with multiple teams in a similar role is highly desirable.
Occasional travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis, including internationally.
In return, you can expect:
Synaptec prides itself on providing an environment that allows you to continue developing your skills and growing your career. You'll be given all the training and support you need to develop and thrive as an engineer.
In addition to this, you'll have access to some great internal schemes, including ethical private healthcare, an invention bonus, cycle-to-work schemes, and discounted gym membership.
They also provide the opportunity for hybrid working, allowing you to split your time between their vibrant Glasgow office and home. We may also consider relocation support for candidates already within the UK, if applicable.
If you don't have a copy of your CV to hand, or don't meet 100% of the essential criteria, but feel you'd be a good fit, we encourage you to apply anyway.
