We currently have vacancies for highly motivated, pro-active, part-qualified AATs to work as Assistant Management Accountants. This requires a UK qualification.
As a team, we are continuously seeking to improve the quality of financial information provided to our many stakeholders and are looking for candidates who can help improve our processes. In particular, we need people who can think beyond traditional roles and work with colleagues in other disciplines.
We are seeking part-time accounts who can work 22.5 hours or more per week. This would suit someone requiring shorter working days or working 3-4 full days per week.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the Financial Management team to provide financial advice and support to managers and clinicians within one of the Trust divisions, which will cover either:
* a geographical region of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire;
* a geographical region of BANES, Swindon and Wiltshire;
* corporate accounting functions, with a base in Bath.
In addition, you will help to prepare month-end accounts, forecasts, and budget setting for your division.
The Trust operates a hybrid working arrangement for these roles with up to 60% of work at AWP premises. You will be expected to work at locations within your division as well as at the finance offices in Bath.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The main requirements of these roles are:
* To assist in the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and production of annual budgets.
* To work with staff to explain variances between budgeted and actual expenditure and help them to take corrective action.
* To maintain and enhance the customer-orientated approach of the Finance Team through the provision of timely and professional help and advice.
* To investigate financial enquiries, providing assistance and advice as required.

* Demonstrates significant, relevant experience of working in a Finance department.
* Demonstrates experience of preparing management accounts.
Desirable criteria
* NHS or Social Services experience.
* Experience of working with staff with a non-financial background.

* Demonstrates strong written communication skills.
* Demonstrates strong verbal communication skills.
* Flexible and supportive team member.
IT skills
Essential criteria
* Experience of using IT in the workplace e.g. Microsoft - word processing, spreadsheets, modern general ledger accounting packages.
