Main Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our dynamic team, delivering high-quality groundworks projects safely, on time, and to client specifications. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for assessing and managing safety hazards, organizing resources, and overseeing on-site operations. You will ensure that all work is completed in line with Tithegrove's health and safety procedures and manage site staff to deliver works productively and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health and Safety Compliance:
o Ensure that all Tithegrove health and safety procedures and policies are followed throughout the construction phase.
o Conduct safety site visits, collect regulator and client feedback, and liaise with senior managers.
2. Personnel Management:
o Induct and brief all site personnel to ensure they understand the design, risk assessments, and method statements.
o Ensure all staff are competent to carry out their allocated tasks each day.
3. Work Allocation and Site Organisation:
o Allocate work and resources to the appropriate teams, ensuring safe and productive delivery of projects.
o Maintain an organised and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with welfare and safety standards.
4. Risk Management and Communication:
o Proactively communicate known significant risks to all stakeholders on site.
o Manage the response in emergency situations to isolate and mitigate risks.
5. Client and Stakeholder Relations:
o Work closely with the client team to understand their programme targets and support safe, productive delivery.
o Escalate concerns early and liaise with contracts managers, surveyors, and safety teams as needed.
6. Procurement and Material Management:
o Manage procurement planning and ensure timely delivery of materials, plant, and subcontractor services.
o Collaborate with the surveyor and procurement team to monitor progress and costs.
7. Staff Competence and Development:
o Manage training, time, attendance, and holiday bookings for site personnel.
Key Working Relationships:
* Internal: Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Surveyors, Safety Advisors, HR, Procurement, and Accounts teams.
* External: Clients, Statutory Authorities, Members of the Public, Enforcement Authorities (HSE, Fire and Rescue Service, Environmental Agency).
Experience & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in the construction or groundworks industry.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to manage people and resources efficiently on site.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Relevant qualifications in construction/site management (SSSTS, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, etc.).
