An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Portsmouth Hospitals MSK department for a permanent band 2 MSK Clerical Officer position.
The Musculoskeletal admin team is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible individual to fill the band 2 Clerical Officer vacancy on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week.
This position will involve working as part of a team across the MSK department, providing administration support to both the inpatient and outpatient areas. The successful candidate key responsibilities will include prepping clinics, appointment/admissions bookings, ensure theatre/clinics are run smoothly and efficiently ensuring they are booking in a timely fashion, adhere to the trust’s policies and procedure and ensure appropriate utilisation of theatres and clinics by proactively monitoring the booking of patients and general office duties.
The department deals with a high volume of patients daily, and so our ideal candidates will need to thrive in a busy and fast paced environment, enjoy dealing with a variety of people both face to face and over the telephone. Teamwork is paramount and excellent customer care skill are essential. Ideally candidates must have a good level of experience working within an administrative environment and must be computer literate. Previous NHS experience and knowledge of the hospital systems such as PAS would be an advantage.
Job Summary:
* Working as part of a team to provide admin and clerical support to the Musculoskeletal Access Centre to assist in the smooth running, preparation and scheduling of Outpatient clinics and theatre lists, in accordance with the principles contained within the Trust’s Waiting List Policy and Outpatient Access Policy and in line with the current waiting time targets.
* To maintain a polite friendly and efficient service for patients and their relatives.
* To ensure data is accurately recorded on the Trust’s Patient Admission System.
