What You'll Be Doing: As the Managing Quantity Surveyor (MQS), you will be pivotal in overseeing the financial and contractual management of key projects. Your role will involve leading and mentoring a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring that all aspects of cost control, procurement, contract management, and risk mitigation are effectively executed. You'll be responsible for: Leadership & Management: Leading a team of surveyors, setting performance standards, and developing team members Cost Management: Preparing and overseeing cost plans, monitoring budgets, and providing accurate financial reports to senior management Procurement & Contract Management: Managing tender processes, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards Risk Management: Identifying risks and developing strategies to mitigate them throughout project lifecycles Stakeholder Communication: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success Quality Assurance: Implementing cost and contract management quality procedures, ensuring all work meets the highest standards and regulatory requirements What We're Looking For: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS membership is highly desirable Extensive experience in quantity surveying working with water or utility frameworks, including leadership responsibilities Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and deliver them within budget and on schedule Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent financial acumen, proficient in UK contract law, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure Familiarity with cost estimation software (e.g., MS Office, CostX, CATO) Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites If you’re ready to take your career to the next level and lead exciting projects with a growing company, apply now
