Job summary The Post Holder will hold specific expertise in a modality of psychological therapy at a Highly Specialised level and will also provide clinical leadership to the service, within a senior clinical team. The Post Holder will possess a qualification in a recognised Psychological Therapy for Serious Mental Health Problems as defined by NHS England. The Post Holder will work alongside other Highly Specialised Psychological Therapists and take strategic direction from the Principal Clinical Psychologist. The Post Holder will be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of high-quality specialist psychological therapies to clients with serious mental health problems. The Post Holder will assist the Principal Clinical Psychologist and utilise delegated responsibility as appropriate in ensuring the effective high quality clinical functioning of the service. To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by a range of psychological therapists, and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment. Main duties of the job As well as providing clinical expertise in an area of psychological therapy, this senior clinician also ensure the service's vision, business model, clinical quality, productivity and KPIs are consistently and systematically delivered. The Post Holder will ensure ongoing quality improvements are established to improve delivery and will ensure supervision is robust and clinical pathways meet the requirements of the service model and the evidence base. The Post Holder will have delegated authority to act, however will also work within a collective leadership team of a senior clinical lead, principal clinical psychologist and the operational lead. The Post Holder will interface with other providers and will be a visible lead for staff across the footprint.
