A leading FTSE-listed business with an extensive land and property portfolio is seeking a talented and driven Development Surveyor to join its client-side team. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting and high-profile development projects, playing a key role in the planning, delivery, and management of developments across the company’s vast property holdings.
As a Development Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the management of development projects from inception through to delivery. You will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects, meeting timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the end-to-end development process for a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Assist in the preparation of development appraisals, feasibility studies, and financial models to assess project viability.
Collaborate with senior leadership and other stakeholders to define and assist in executing development strategies.
Manage relationships with external consultants, contractors, and local authorities, ensuring compliance with planning and regulatory requirements.
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Assist in negotiating and managing development agreements, contracts, and partnerships with third-party stakeholders.
Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with development projects, contributing to the delivery of high-quality and sustainable developments. Key Requirements:
Proven experience in development surveying, ideally within large-scale property or land development projects.
Strong understanding of the development lifecycle, from land acquisition and planning to construction and handover.
Good project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in development appraisals, budgeting, and cost control.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and support senior managers in driving results.
Experience in navigating complex regulatory environments and managing risk. Desirable:
Degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Planning, or a related field.
MRICS, RIBA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
Experience working client-side for large corporations with extensive land or property portfolios.
