Provide support to the UK Remarketing Finance Manager by being an integral part of the month-end process ensuring that accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and month-end analysis are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Outside of month-ends, providing regular management and contractual reporting as well as having the ability to perform ad hoc analysis and investigation.
Key Responsibilities
Timely preparation and posting of period-end accruals and prepayment journals for areas of responsibility to support the period-end close process.
Performing month-end balance sheet reconciliations across a range of account balances.
Performing in-month checks on account balances and classes of transactions of higher risk of mis-posting to identify issues prior to month-end.
Ownership of certain month-end intercompany reconciliations ensuring that relevant invoices are posted by the Accounts Payable team and making accruals where necessary.
Assist in the preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts.
Assist with other regular and ad hoc reporting, investigation and analysis to enable efficient operational and financial processes and to support the wider management accounts team.
Reviewing and approving proposed payments through the online banking portal.
Reconciliation of key bank accounts including investigating unallocated bank receipts to ensure appropriate coding.
Supporting the year-end audit process.
Key Skills
Desirable - AAT qualified or equivalent and / or working towards a recognised accounting qualification – CIMA, ACCA, ACA
Desirable - Strong IT skills including intermediate Excel skills as a minimum (including use of SUMIF, IF, XLOOKUP functions and Pivot tables)
Prior use of Microsoft Navision or similar Microsoft ERP would be advantageous but not essential
Strong attention to detail
Methodical in approach and able to present work in a logical, thought-out way such that it is easy for someone else to review
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
Willingness to be proactive and to make suggestions
