Salary: £95 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)
We are supporting an exciting new 5-19 Special Needs Provision in Harrow, which is seeking a dedicated SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the development of a growing school from its inception.
You will mentor newly appointed staff, support the teaching assistant team, and contribute to the school's success.
As an HLTA, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to manage the day-to-day classroom operations.
- Leading lessons for whole classes, groups, and individuals in consultation with the class teacher.
- Taking the lead in the teacher's absence, including assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' progress.
- Supporting curriculum planning, delivering programmes of learning, and adapting activities to suit individual pupil needs.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, fostering a safe, supportive environment where they can thrive.
- Encouraging independence and personal development while maintaining high behavioural standards.
- HLTA Diploma or Level 4 qualification (desirable but not essential).
- GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including SEMH and ASD.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Proven ability to manage a range of behavioural strategies, including those for pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Creative, positive, and adaptable to meet the needs of individual pupils.
