Role Overview:
This position is a key role in Digital finance. As Finance Manager, responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations for your area of responsibility, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Production of the monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheet, developing an in-depth understanding of the business operations and the related Financials
2. Key contact to stakeholders to explain Financial performance and position
3. Management and development of team
4. Management and production of daily P&L’s.
5. Variance analysis supporting daily P&L’s and month end accounts.
6. Ensure the management accounts team adheres to Digital and Group Finance deadlines.
7. Implementation of controls in line with the Group’s Financial controls programme
8. Production and review of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
9. Support on cost reviews with budget holders.
10. Support the Head of Finance with the year end and interim audits.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
11. Qualified CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA accountant - PQE experience essential
12. Experience of management accounting essential
13. Experience with working alongside and influencing senior stakeholders; both financial and non-financial
14. Strong analytical skills required in order to identify and remediate risks
15. Ability to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall business performance
16. Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
17. Ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines
18. Ability to work under your own initiative
19. Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
20. Attention to detail and accuracy
21. Retail industry experience desirable
22. Experience of Oracle Financials and TM1 useful (though training will be provided)
23. A positive, flexible, enthusiastic and driven attitude.
