The Role
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Management Accountant is to maintain and update the company’s database of product costings and oversee the processes that support it. This ensures accurate and timely cost information is available to aid analysis and critical business decisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager by analysing and reporting actual manufacturing costs versus standard costs, working collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance business performance and maximise profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and posting of monthly journals and accruals
* Assisting with cashflow preparation, bank, and balance sheet reconciliation
* Conducting variance analysis and reporting on product costs
* Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on variances between actual and standard costs
* Preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
* Investigating costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities
* Ensuring product pricing schedules remain up to date
* Regularly updating standard costs
* Assisting in audits and liaising with external auditors
* Supporting stock reports and stock counts
* Processing credit card expenses
