Reporting into the Operations Managers, a unique opportunity has become available at NNUH for an Electrical Technical Manager responsible for overseeing the delivery of all electrical maintenance services throughout the site, across a wide range of plant and equipment to include but not limited to High Voltage and Low Voltage Distribution Systems, Generators and Back Up Systems, Combined Heating & Power, Ventilation Systems, Building Management Control System, Fire Alarms, Nurse Call, UPS, Refrigeration, Lifts etc. You will work with and alongside the Mechanical & Building Engineering Technical Managers and be responsible for a team of approximately 30 staff to include Engineering Officers, Supervisor, Technicians, Craftsmen and Maintenance Assistants, overseeing the management of the day-to-day maintenance service, with involvement in small and lifecycle works. All in line with operating policies, procedures, contractual compliance and contractual Key Performance Indicators. For this key leadership role, we are looking for a highly motivated, flexible, customer focussed and pro-active individual with strong people management skills alongside proven experience and knowledge of electrical infrastructure, systems, plant and equipment to join our team where you will: Manage and lead the Electrical service delivery in line with contractual obligations. Manage and maintain compliance to appropriate legislation, standards and guidance. Ensure all relevant statutory inspections etc are carried out in line with requirements. Manage departmental performance and individual performance. Carry out all aspects of people management. Manage and promote zero tolerance Health & Safety culture. Manage within agreed engineering budgets. Support development and operation of the estates CAFM system. Prepare and review maintenance procedures for plant and equipment. Carry out document reviews of policies, procedures and other estates related documentation. Support external and complete internal audits as required. Work with Project Managers to provide technical and managerial support in the delivery of capital schemes to include design and commissioning support. Participate in the On-Call escalation service to support on site staff out of hours. Carry out AP duties following training and formal appointment in at least one discipline – discipline(s) to be determined. What you’ll need to do the role Completion of a recognised appropriate Engineering Apprenticeship or other relevant structured training programme. Appropriate engineering certificated qualifications. Knowledge of Water Safety Management, Ventilation, Steam and other plant, equipment and building services. Strong technical knowledge. Strong work ethic with a professional, flexible and customer focussed approach. Good communication skills. Computer literacy with ability to work with Microsoft applications. People management skills and experience. Ability to work individually and as part of a Team.
