Post Details - An exciting unique opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Team Lead Arts Therapist at the State Hospital. You will be an autonomous clinical practitioner planning and providing an Arts Therapies service within your own modality working in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary clinical team and Allied Health Professions' (AHP) team. You will be responsible for assessment, treatment and management of a caseload of forensic patients with complex mental health needs and/or intellectual disability and associated challenging behaviours in a high secure environment.
You will oversee the Arts Therapies service directed by the Lead Allied Health Professional, provide line management and clinical supervision to the Band 6 Arts Therapists and potentially host student placements. The role will include planning and responding to the most complex patient cases.
The post will be central in supporting the Lead Allied Health Professional in the exciting work of shaping and developing the newly redesigned, Arts Therapies service as part of the larger supportive Allied Health Professions Team. We are based in a purpose built hospital located in rural Lanarkshire and are commutable from most major towns and cities. Experience - You will have an MA or equivalent qualification in Arts Therapies with current HCPC registration and will have experience of working in an acute mental health setting. You will have a strong understanding of managing risk and demonstrate experience of this. You will be highly motivated and creative in your approach and be able to work independently as well as demonstrating sound leadership skills.
