Principal Solutions Architect, Data & AI, AWS Industries, Telco Tech & WW SA
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced and motivated Data and AI Solutions Architects to partner with enterprise customers in their journey to become data-driven organizations. In this highly technical and customer-facing role, you will engage directly with customers to understand their business drivers, assess data and analytics needs, and design reliable, cost-effective, and scalable cloud architectures on AWS for data, analytics, and AI workloads. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around advanced data, analytics, and AI solutions on the cloud.
A core responsibility is educating customers on the value proposition of AWS's data, analytics, and AI services through training sessions, deep architectural discussions, and cloud acceleration programs. You will drive revenue growth by formulating and executing sales strategies in partnership with the AWS Sales team, focusing on data, analytics, and AI opportunities.
The ideal candidate has a passion for cloud computing and data-driven technologies, with a proven track record in data engineering, data architecture, analytics, or AI/ML solutions. You must be broadly competent across data platforms, data engineering, analytics, and machine learning, with deep expertise in at least two of these areas. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with all customer stakeholders, including data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business leaders.
Key job responsibilities

3. Expertise in designing and architecting large-scale, distributed data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI/ML models.
4. Hands-on experience with AWS data, analytics, and AI/ML services or equivalent cloud platforms.
5. Fluently communicate with customers at all levels, including data stakeholders, boardrooms, and peers, evolving to the 'trusted advisor' for data, analytics, and AI.
6. Ability to think strategically about complex technical and business challenges related to data, analytics, and AI.
7. Build deep relationships to become a customers' trusted advisor for their critical data, analytics, and AI workloads.
8. Drive business engagements to develop technical strategies for migrating and implementing data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI/ML models on the cloud.
9. Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS's data, analytics, and AI services, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure they design solutions for resiliency, security, and cost optimization.
10. Collaborate across AWS teams to drive and shape new data, analytics, and AI solutions and mechanisms for repeatable customer business outcomes.
11. Assist Partners in designing and implementing large-scale data, analytics, and AI solutions.
12. Capture and share best-practice knowledge for deploying, running, and managing data, analytics, and AI workloads on AWS.
13. Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications, such as whitepapers and blogs, on data, analytics, and AI topics, as a means of scaling your knowledge.
14. Influence cloud services roadmap for data, analytics, and AI, by acting as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address customer needs.
A day in the life
In this role, your typical day will involve partnering with enterprise customers, AWS Sales teams, and internal AWS data and AI specialists to design and implement highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures for data, analytics, and AI workloads. You will link your deep expertise in data engineering, analytics, and machine learning to tangible business solutions.
Minimum Requirements
1. 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
3. Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
4. Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
5. Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
6. Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
7. Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
8. Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
