We are a truly independent school and we are now welcoming applications for our new Marketing and Communications Officer.
The Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and communication plans that promote the school's story and services. This role requires strong communication skills, creativity, and a strategic approach to digital and traditional marketing techniques.
The role is the central voice that will contribute to all aspects of marketing and communication, including pupil recruitment and retention, events, and advertising to prospective families.

Role and Responsibilities:
Photography and videography:
* Identify opportunities for and collaborate with staff to produce captivating photography and videography across all areas of school life for use in media and in on site events.
* Use editing programs including Canva, iMovie and Adobe Suite to create unique, emotive and eye-catching photography and videography.
* Maintain an organised library of high-quality footage.
Social Media and Website Management:
* Manage the school’s social media presence across multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
* Innovate, capture and edit creative content for writing and scheduling St Piran's social media content including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn. Must be confident in the use of social media and have an appetite to tell our story.
* Proactively update the school’s social media channels to ensure consistent messaging which represents St Piran's ethos, key messages and values.
* Monitor social media metrics and adapt strategies to increase engagement and growth.
* Utilise the school’s social media channels to foster connections with the community.
* Record detailed social media analytics.
* Create paid social media campaigns, which support the school’s overall marketing and admissions strategy; analyse the results of these to inform future marketing campaigns.
* Edit the school’s website, ensuring it is engaging, user-friendly and updated regularly to accurately reflect the school’s offering.
* Consistently update news and media across the website to ensure it remains current and interesting.
Publications and profiles:
* Contribute to the production of various internal and external publications, using various design tools, to create engaging visuals that align with campaign objectives, ensuring brand consistency.
* Ensure that all communications and marketing materials are on-brand, consistent with the company’s voice and values.
* Prepare publications for professional printing; communicating with any external providers to organise printing and delivery timeframes in line with project deadlines.
* Coordinate press releases, media alerts, and other PR efforts.
* Manage crisis communication when necessary and uphold the company's public image.
* Collaborate with HR and other departments to create internal communications and foster employee engagement.
* Assist in creating internal newsletters, bulletins, and presentations.
Events:
* Assist with the administrative organisation and hosting of marketing events including Open Mornings, Senior Schools Fairs and Prize Giving.
* Oversee event logistics, ensuring seamless planning and execution of school events.
* Develop and manage marketing collateral, including digital and print materials, to promote events effectively.
* Attend pivotal school calendar events to capture engaging marketing content, such as photos, videos, and testimonials.
* Analyse post-event outcomes by compiling reports that evaluate attendance, engagement, and overall success. Utilise insights to drive improvements for future events.
Afterschool Programme:
* Organise, oversee, and actively participate in dynamic after-school clubs.
