The DBS Academy is the central point for all learning, development and talent activity in DBS.
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for someone to join our small team to support DBS in delivering and evolving our development offer for all colleagues.
Purpose of the Role:
1. To support the HR&OD leadership team and Chief Executive Officer in delivering the DBS Strategy, with a particular focus on our workforce.
2. To provide a professional, proactive, and effective talent & learning service to all staff within the DBS.
3. To advise, support and guide managers & staff on a range of appropriate talent and learning activities to meet DBS strategic and business objectives.
4. To design, source, create or curate, deliver and evaluate talent and learning activities for the DBS through the full consultancy cycle drawing on deep subject knowledge or a specialist skillset.
Core Professional Competence:
1. To maintain a working and evidence-based knowledge of modern talent & learning theory, practice, and trends.
2. To maintain a knowledge and understanding of current and emerging digital tools and e-learning solutions including those available through DBS, Government Campus, and other suppliers.
3. To share your knowledge on a regular basis with our local learning leader community.
High Quality Consultancy & Guidance:
1. Lead on a portfolio of varied talent & learning projects, initiatives and products ensuring that implementation is achieved on time and in budget.
2. To design, source, or create/curate, deliver and evaluate talent and learning activities for the DBS through the full consultancy cycle.
3. To meet talent & learning objectives by liaising and negotiating with Government Campus and other groups and external suppliers.
4. Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff about a range of talent & learning interventions.
5. Work closely with HR Business Partners and other HR Services to provide data, feedback and evaluation information on learning and development activities.
6. Act as a point of contact for business leaders, managers, and HR services in relation to the DBS Academy offer and talent & learning solutions.
An impactful Curriculum / Learning Offer:
1. To continue to apply the consultancy cycle as required to live products to continuously improve the engagement with and impact of our talent and learning offer.
2. To support the Head of DBS Academy on a regular basis to conduct needs analysis and identify the projects, initiatives and products required in our OD workplan.
Effective Delivery & Facilitation:
1. To facilitate talent & learning workshops, presentations and courses as required by assigned portfolio of talent & learning projects and initiatives.
2. To facilitate meetings, focus groups and engagement activities to support design / development / evaluation / engagement with DBS Academy.
Delivering the Apprenticeship Framework:
1. Manage the delivery of apprenticeship training and administrate the Levy account.
2. Provide mentoring and support for apprentices, maximising supplier relationship.
Purposeful Administration & Reporting:
1. Pro-actively collate feedback and evaluation of talent and learning activities.
2. Manage and administer learning systems, records, and management information.
3. Monitor and produce regular information on Talent & Learning engagement and opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Comprehensive and demonstrable experience in undertaking teaching, talent, learning and development activities.
2. Experience of evaluating talent & learning from reaction to return on investment.
Education & Qualifications:
1. A relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development or Degree in Human Resource Management) or relevant and substantial equivalent experience.
