We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Domiciliary Care Worker to join our team, where you will play a key role in delivering outstanding care to service users, promoting their dignity, wellbeing, and independence. Position Purpose: The Senior Domiciliary Care Worker will provide personal care and support to service users in their own homes in line with individual care plans. You will work collaboratively with other care staff and health professionals to ensure an integrated approach to the health and wellbeing of service users, while promoting dignity, respect, and independence. The role also includes mentoring and supporting junior care staff to maintain high standards of care. Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Domiciliary Care Worker, you will: Assist service users with activities of daily living, such as getting up, going to bed, dressing, washing, and toilet arrangements. Help service users overcome mobility issues and physical disabilities, including the use of aids and personal equipment. Make service users physically comfortable by carrying out tasks such as bed making, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry, and emptying commodes. Assist with meal preparation, snacks, and drinks, and help service users eat and drink when necessary. Contribute to the development of specialised care plans, including for those with dementia, reablement needs, or continence difficulties. Administer prescribed medication to service users as outlined in care plans. Provide care to service users who are temporarily ill, including minor dressings, bed nursing, and help with feeding. Support end-of-life care when required. Promote mental and physical activity for service users through conversation, hobbies, outings, and activities. Maintain accurate records and write reports, including daily journals, incident reports, and meeting minutes. Report any concerns or significant changes in a service user’s condition to the Care Co-ordinator or Registered Manager (RM). Ensure emergency procedures are followed and escalate issues as needed. Adhere to all care plans, risk assessments, and updates to ensure the safety of service users. Comply with the service’s guidelines and policies at all times, including dress code, identity badges, and safeguarding procedures. Encourage service users to maintain as much independence as possible. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, staff training, and other communications to ensure shared learning. Conduct spot checks and audits on care delivery, document and follow up on concerns or incidents, and implement actions for improvement. Write and review care plans and risk assessments effectively.
