Our Field teams are critical in delivering our contracts, whether that involves maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works. Help build and maintain the nation's critical infrastructure, connected and protected 24/7.
What you’ll do:
Our Apprentices will experience various rotations aimed at developing their skills, knowledge, and personal growth, gaining insight into different departments across Network Services.
This role offers great opportunities to progress your career in telecommunications while earning an industry-recognized qualification.
* Work in diverse environments such as offices, outdoors, BT exchanges, data centers, and emergency service locations.
* Learn to install, maintain, and test on-site equipment according to contract requirements.
* Work on Emergency Service vehicles installing, maintaining, testing, and commissioning telecommunications equipment.
* Learn about Emergency Services Radio Communications, including VHF/RF/Microwave systems.
* Work with Optical Fibre, including cable preparation, OTDR testing, and interpreting results.
* Gain knowledge of IP routers and networks.
* Understand project requirements for Telent’s customers and how to fulfill them.
* Complete risk assessments and understand health and safety standards.
Who you are & what to prepare for:
* This role involves working at heights, outdoors, and traveling across the UK.
* You may work in Emergency Services locations or around various vehicles.
* No prior experience is required; full training will be provided.
* Candidates should have the right attitude, commitment, and eagerness to learn.
* You will receive a vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, and PPE.
* Ownership of tasks and personal development is essential.
* Effective communication skills are vital.
* A logical approach and problem-solving skills are desirable.
* You must be physically capable and have normal colour vision.
The Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or higher, including Maths, English, and Science or IT.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Over 18 years old by September 2025.
* Ability to pass Security Clearance and adhere to Drugs & Alcohol policies.
Programme Details:
* Duration: approximately 24 months.
* Starting salary: £17,500, increasing during the programme.
* Qualification: Level 3 Information Communications Technician.
* Support from Bragd, our training provider, to obtain your qualification.
* Primarily field-based with office and college visits as needed.
* Potential for a full-time position upon completion.
