THE ROLE:
Are you a part-qualified accountant with a passion for leading teams and driving excellence in financial operations? We're on the hunt for a dedicated professional with 2-3 years of practical experience in a similar role, though candidates qualified by experience are also welcome.
In this role, you'll manage two purchase ledger officers, ensuring the smooth operation of the UK accounts payable function. You'll assist with tax regulatory reports, maintain fixed asset registers, and manage depreciation schedules. Your responsibilities will also include reconciling balance sheet accounts and signing off quarterly bank reconciliations for CABI worldwide.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Line Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate your team to achieve their best.
2. Fortnightly Payment Runs Approval: Oversee and approve regular payment processes.
3. Quarterly Bank Reconciliations Sign-Off: Ensure accuracy and compliance across our global accounts.
4. APD/IPT Claims Submissions : Manage and submit accurate claims.
5. Annual Royalty Payments: Oversee and process royalty payments efficiently.
6. Payroll Processing, Reconciliation, and Forecasting: Handle payroll with precision, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
ABOUT YOU:
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
7. Advanced competency with spreadsheet and word processing packages and finance systems.
8. Experience of purchase ledger systems integrated within a standard financial accounting package.
9. Moderate financial accounting experience including fixed asset accounting, VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations.
10. Demonstrate strong people management experience.
11. Demonstrable experience of process development and implementation.
Education & Qualifications
12. Professionally Qualified: Qualified AAT, Part qualified- CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
13. Part qualified and/or qualified by experience (5+ years) will be considered.
14. Line Management Experience: Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
