An exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and forward-thinking Lead Practitioner has arisen within QHB Theatres Gynaecology, Maternity, Ophthalmic's, ENT, Dentals and Plastic Surgery
The post holder will provide clinical management, responsibility and leadership whilst supporting the QHB Theatre sites to ensure a patient focused care delivery. To have a professional leadership presence, working collaboratively and co-operatively with the wider MDT for the smooth running of the theatres. This will incorporate undertaking a co-ordinator role, management of day to day activities, trouble shooting and working collaboratively with fellow Lead Practitioners, Senior Sisters and the Clinical Theatre manager.
Ensuring that Guidelines, National and Local policies, Infection control measures, Audit collection and Quality Assurance is maintained and adhered too. From these assessments to provide improvement pathways to ensure best practice is achieved, which is evidenced based.
To be able to provide work collaboratively with the MDT to achieve maximum efficiency and utilisation of theatre lists. In tandem the successful candidate will take responsibility for financial budgets, targets and cost savings on a regular bases with the Divisional Finance team and Clinical Theatre Manager.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate, organise and take responsibility and accountability for the management and organisation of the given specialities, this involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities including staff management.
To be a professional and clinical role model, leading and coordinating theatres, in conjunction with the Theatre Matron, and working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
Able to practice clinically within theatres.
Provide specialist clinical advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients and relatives/ carers in collaboration with the multi professional team.
Deliver clinical leadership through effective monitoring and implementation of standards and evidence based practice.
