The Head of Lived Experience Workforce and Recovery College is responsible for oversight and strategic leadership of the Recovery College (RC), as well as Lived Experience Practice and Peer Support Worker provision within the Mental Health Clinical Board (MHCB) of Cardiff & Vale UHB. The postholder will advise the Head of Operations, the Mental Health Clinical Board and Service/Clinical Directors on the strategic development of this professional group, ensuring that they meet professional standards and are compliant with recognised best practice. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The post holder will ensure that all Peer and lived experience leaders operate within a robust framework which ensures professional leadership for all lived experience workers, timely interpretation of national and local policies; and ensures systematic and appropriate governance of peer support and lived experience practice within the Mental Health Clinical Board. The postholder also holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring that systems for effective professional supervision and support are established and maintained across all services that have peer or lived experience workers, including systems for effective recruitment and retention, professional knowledge and skills framework review and the identification of continued professional development needs and training. The postholder will hold overall responsibility for implementing clear systems for effective training and supervision for all staff within the Recovery College, delegating the operational management of this to the Recovery College Manager as appropriate. The postholder will work to support clear reporting, research and audit activities for both the lived experience workforce and the Recovery College. The post-holder will promote the UHB objectives and values and be expected to represent the UHB externally and engage with professional bodies and regulators as required.
