Location: Peterborough
Rate: Up to £13.82/hour (12-month contract, likely to extend)
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (6-6), rotating | Fully on-site

TeamJobs is looking for a Development & Research Engine Test Technician to join our Global Engine Development (GED) team at Peterborough facility. This is a unique opportunity to work on real-world engine testing that supports over 5,000 applications worldwide - from marine to electric generators!
What You'll Do
1. Install, connect, and test engines in high-tech test cells.
2. Work closely with engineers to support engine test programs.
3. Diagnose faults on engines and test equipment.
4. Contribute to continuous improvement and training initiatives.
5. Maintain a clean, safe work environment aligned with Caterpillar's 5S and TPM standards.

What We're Looking For
1. Mechanical diagnostic or engine testing experience.
2. A background in motor mechanics or engineering (apprenticeship ideal).
3. Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
4. Team player with a passion for learning and technical excellence.
5. Comfortable working shifts and hands-on in a lab/testing environment.
Not Essential, But Nice to Have:
Experience in automotive maintenance or engine testing environments.
