RINA is currently recruiting for a UK Defence Business Development Manager, Defence Consulting to join its office in Chippenham within the RINA Consulting UK Commercial Management Division. Job Purpose RINA is looking to recruit an experienced, talented and driven Business Development Manager as part of our Consulting BD Team. You will join our Aerospace and Defence (ASD) Business Unit (BU)accountable for targeting and winning growth opportunities with existing and new Defence clients within the UK. The role will be instrumental in driving the business to achieve its ambitious growth targets. RINA is a ‘smart working’ adopter: If you don't mind occasional travel, your location in the UK is not an issue. However, our primary UK offices are in Chippenham, Leatherhead, and Lincoln. The Role: You will work as part of the ASD BD Team and collaborate with the consulting leads to identify and win new and repeat business in the UK across our portfolio of consultancy services. The portfolio of engineering services RINA S&D provides include: Safety Engineering, Data Science & Analytics, Human Factors Integration, Integrated Logistics Support, Electro-Magnetic Compatibility. RINA also provides high end Defence Training and Learning solutions. Key Accountabilities Sales Planning and Forecasting- Build and manage an accurate opportunity pipeline; assist in executing sales and marketing plans. Market Expansion- Explore opportunities for alliances, partnerships, and acquisitions; develop cross-selling opportunities within RINA Group. Customer Engagement- Engage with current and potential customers to understand and meet their needs. Order Intake Management- Drive and monitor the order intake pipeline to achieve individual and group sales targets, update with new prospects, and support major contracts and tenders. Contract Management -Support contract closing activities and capture lessons learned. Competitor Analysis- Track and report on competitor activities and market intelligence. Stay Current with Offerings and Technology Solutions: Stay updated on current and future offerings. Communicate technological solutions to customers. What We're Looking For Must have experience of working in Consulting or other Professional Services service provider; understanding of consulting, engineering services or training is advantageous, but not pre-requisite; Some knowledge of the Defence domain, across one of more of the platforms: air, land, sea, and/or cyber; Have some understanding of UK Defence procurement processes is preferable; Previous roles will have been and Business Development and commercially focussed e.g.: Relationship Manager, Account Executive, Sales Executive or Capture Specialist etc; A current personal network within the Defence and Security sector that can be exploited through the ASD portfolio of services is preferable; Significant experience of writing compelling and persuasive business-winning responses to Tender Opportunities and Requests for Proposals / Quotations; Due to the security clearance requirements of the role, candidates should be SC cleared at the point of employment, or be a British citizen, willing to undergo vetting Benefits In addition to the below you will become part of our growing global team, you will find yourself working with world-class professionals and clients in a variety of market sectors.
