Main duties of the job

8. To ensure the safe and appropriate storage and administration of medicines to patients.
9. To ensure compliance with all procedures relating to the collection, storage, and dispatch of pathological specimens.
10. To ensure the environment is kept clean, safe, and tidy and participate in the maintenance and decontamination of medical equipment.
11. To ensure all patient records and associated documentation are accurate, contemporaneous, complete, and processed as per OSD Healthcare requirements.
12. To participate with other team members to ensure the effective maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care.
13. To supervise, mentor, support, and educate less experienced and non-registered staff in the clinical practice setting.
14. To maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.

Job responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Outpatients team based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on either full-time or part-time, working between 30-37.5 hours per week, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary in the range of £28,408.00 - £34,581.00 depending on experience plus benefits.
About the role
* To deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to patients and their families within the Outpatient Department.
* To work closely with the multidisciplinary team to achieve/maintain an outstanding, patient-focused service.
* To provide support/education to more junior members of staff and supervise Healthcare Assistants.
The successful candidate will be expected to work on a shift basis, working between 30-37.5 hours per week over a 7-day rota during the hospital operating hours. The rota is not fixed, is subject to change in order to meet operational needs and will be required to work weekends and bank holidays in accordance with the rota.
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
* Be a Registered Nurse with post-registration relevant clinical course.
* Have current and relevant experience as an Outpatient Nurse and supervising HCAs, ideally within a private healthcare setting.
* Evidence of CPD and up to date on current nursing practices.
* Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives/carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across professional disciplines.
