SEN Teaching Assistant - Challenging Behaviour Support - Thame
ASAP Start - £89 - £95 per day dependent on experience
There is an exciting opportunity to secure a 1 year contract at an 'Outstanding' two form entry Mainstream Primary School based in Thame. This is a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant opportunity. The school is looking for someone to support a small cohort of children who display challenging behaviour and have social, emotional mental health needs. A one year contract is on offer. Experience with SEMH, ASD, team teach training, ADHD and a teaching assistant with experience in a similar position is suitable for this role. The position begins ASAP.
The Primary school would ideally like to meet candidates who have a degree and who have some experience working with Special Educational Needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia. The children can present challenging behaviour so will require someone with confidence and experience to control and calm this. This role will entail a variety of responsibilities and will offer excellent experience for the teaching assistant appointed. Minimum standards will include Maths and English at GCSE graded C or above.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support SEND children within each class according to their individual needs.
2. Work with children who have ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges.
3. Assist in managing and calming challenging behaviour.
Qualifications:
1. A degree and experience working with Special Educational Needs.
2. Minimum GCSE in Maths and English graded C or above.
