Are you a passionate and experienced History educator ready to lead and inspire a thriving department? We are seeking a dedicated Head of History to join our school in Havering, East London, on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role:
As Head of History, you will:
* Lead and manage the History department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
* Oversee curriculum design, delivery, and assessment across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
* Foster a love for History and critical thinking in students.
* Mentor and support teachers within the department to drive professional growth and innovation.
* Monitor and improve student outcomes through effective data analysis and intervention strategies.
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and collaborate with senior leadership.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for an inspirational and ambitious leader who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related subject.
* Has a proven track record of excellent classroom teaching and raising student achievement.
* Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing teams or leading curriculum projects.
* Is passionate about History and has the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
