Relief Part Time Primary Care Centre Assistantand Driver
2 x 15hrs per week working acombination of day, evening and night shifts, but predominantly nights withadditional hours often available (primarily based at Princess Royal Hospital, Telfordwith some shifts at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital).
Althoughwelcome, no prior experience is essential as full training will be provided.You will need to have outstanding interpersonal skills to build relationshipswith colleagues and patients and, inaddition to Telford & Shrewsbury must be prepared to travel to our otherbases at Whitchurch, Ludlow and Bridgnorth.

Main duties of the job
Youll be based primarily at Telford Hospital, whereyoull greet and welcome patients. However, youll also drive GPs to homevisits in the surrounding areas, potentially anywhere in Shropshire.
Yourduties will include:
7. Transporting theDuty GP / Clinicians to all home visits
8. Checking diagnosticequipment and clinical bags used by GPs is present and in working order
9. Ensuring surgeriesare set up and fully equipped in readiness for patients
10. Greeting patientsattending the Primary Care Centre, acting as a first point of contact
11. Supporting withadministrative tasks, such as handling telephone calls and arranging conferencecalls, faxing prescriptions and admission letters
12. Ensuring the Centreand vehicles are kept clean and tidy

Shropdoc is a not-for-profit company established in 1996, providing 24/7 urgent primary care services for patients across Powys, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. This includes out of hours GP services, care coordination, single point of access in Shropshire, and an oncology advice line. Our Primary Care Centres offer support to patients who have pre-booked appointment times to avoid unnecessary waiting, are mostly located within hospitals around the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Powys areas.
The Package
13. Working a minimum of 15 hrs pw relief(additional hours often available). Shifts across days, evenings and nights.
14. Flexibility is available withhours worked, shift patterns are provided with a minimum of 6 weeks in advance.Some flexibility will be required to meet the demands of the role.
15. Base pay rate £; As you willwork primarily out of hours shifts you will benefit from the 30% uplift whenworking between 8pm and 6am on weekdays and for Saturday shifts, as well as a60% uplift on Sundays and Bank Holidays

Purpose
To support the clinician in ensuring that the patientpathway is completed within laid down timescalein accordance with policy, procedure and working instruction.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the continuingprovision of first-class care for all our patients throughensuring reception, administrative and driving dutiesare undertaken efficiently and effectively.
Summary
To act as receptionist at the base, managing patientappointments, supporting clinicians with administrative tasks, and supporting and managing patientsthrough their experience with Shropdoc
To liaise with despatchand your clinician to ensure that base appointments and home visits are completed in a timely fashion
To drive the Shropdocvehicle to home visits in a safe and competent manner
To ensure that all kit is checked and available for both home and base appointments
To ensure that vehiclesare checked prior to any visits so that they are safe and roadworthy
and Responsibilities - BASE
To ensure that the base is set up and ready for patientsat the beginning of the shift. All computers to be logged in and allessential kits ready and available.
To ensure that base email accountis checked and anything relevantis actioned, all phonelines are connected, and printers are operational.
All clinical kit is checked in conjunction with the Kit Checking and Sealing Process
To appropriately record all drug and sundry usage across the shift using the relevantstock control method and in conjunction with Medicines Management Policy
To support your clinicianwith administrative tasks,such as scanningpaperwork, emailinginformation or making phone calls
To be responsible forgreeting patients at bases and promptly recording their arrival on clinical softwareand ensure that should a patient not attend that it is promptly reportedto despatch
To ensure that all infection controlprocedures are stringently followed in line with relevant policy and maintain acontinuously clean and tidy environment
To carry out basic first responseand fault-finding following failure of systems/technical equipment
To provide clear and specific detailsto despatch when reporting issuesthat require further investigation
To log any incidents that occur on shift via Radar (for example, health and safetyincidents, safe-guarding concerns etc.)
To advise clinicians of any drug or sundryshortages
To witness the removaland re-stock of controlled drugs and sign your agreement
To check the presenceand function of all diagnostic equipment, replacing batteries or reporting any faulty items

To ensure prescriptions are in printerswhen the doctor is seeingpatients but stored in drugs cupboard when on home visit or baseis closed
and Responsibilities HOME VISIT
To ensure that the clinician is always transported to home visitssafely and with all clinicalkit available
To maintain contact with despatch throughout home visits, informing them of any delays/detours and always ensuringthey are contacted before returning to base
Comprehensively completevehicle checks as per the Driver and Vehicle Policyand the Vehicle and Kit Logbefore driving anywhere on shift
Ensure full clinical kit is availableon all home visits and that it is regularlychecked and restocked inaccordance with procedure
To always use the TomTom satnavin the vehicle, even on short, local journeys
Support clinicianin locating the front door of properties and assist with carrying of kit
Report all arrival and departure timesusing the workingtimes function of the TomTom
Provide an escort into the patients home at the request of the clinician if youfeel safe and comfortable doing so. Never witnessa consultation, remain in the hall/by front door and beavailable as required
Record all drugs/sundries dispensedout of the vehicles using relevant stock controlrecording method and restock as required

Maintain securityof vehicle at all times
