The Role
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our experienced QS team to provide financial and contractual management of projects. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop your skills, and work towards professional accreditation (e.g., RICS).
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.
* Supporting the preparation of bills of quantities (BoQ) and procurement schedules.
* Helping to monitor project costs and progress against budgets.
* Assisting in valuing completed works and arranging payments to contractors and subcontractors.
* Participating in risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
* Maintaining accurate records of project financials and contract administration.
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Skills & Attributes:
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Proficient in using relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD, or QS-specific tools).
* Eagerness to learn and develop in a professional environment.
* Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
* Internship or placement experience in construction, engineering, or related industries.
* Knowledge of contracts such as NEC, JCT, or FIDIC.
Qualifications:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or expected completion of such a degree).
