WHAT YOU WILL DO
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Laboratory Technician! The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day activities of the Microbiology Laboratory, where we carry out bio burden and other testing processes for our Gamma and X Ray sterilization modalities. The role is centered around providing and maintaining service excellence to customers, ensuring professionalism and courtesy at a high level.
Duties
1. Ensure all work in the laboratory is carried out in compliance with the Health and Safety policies, ISO13485 (Current Revision), ISO17025 (Current Revision), EUGMP (Current Revision), accreditation requirements, internal procedures, and in conjunction with the Senior Technicians and under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor/Management team.
2. Maintain accurate and sufficiently detailed records of all quality tests performed.
3. Uphold relevant quality standards as set out in the controlled laboratory and QA procedures.
4. Perform other related quality duties as assigned.
5. Assist in the day-to-day organization of work in the microbiology unit to meet departmental and customer needs.
6. Cleaning and washing of Laboratory glassware, preparation, and sterilization of Laboratory media.
7. Perform microbiological techniques on customer product and other samples.
8. Perform standard microbiological procedures and techniques, including microbiological identifications, culture preparation and maintenance, LAL Endotoxin testing, bioburden, environmental, biological indicator (routine and validation), product inoculations, and sterility testing.
9. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used in carrying out duties.
10. Responsible for organizing the environmental monitoring program (including particle counting) and checking of the environmental conditions within the laboratory.
11. Cleaning of general laboratory, test rooms, and cleanrooms.
12. Disposal of lab waste generated in carrying out duties.
13. Deal with all customer inquiries/complaints in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
14. Responsible for stock control in conjunction with the other laboratory staff in a proactive manner.
15. Designated trainer for the laboratory.
16. Initiate, investigate, control, and analyze non-conformance reports ensuring all relevant parties are informed.
17. Assist in the management of work instructions, methods, and procedures.
18. Assist in the validation of laboratory equipment and producing relevant reports.
19. Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
20. Attend relevant courses and undergo training as necessary.
21. Undertake any other duties as may become necessary in the provision of the quality assured service.
Minimum Requirements
1. Sound knowledge of general microbiology techniques and EUGMP; a Senior Technician position requires a minimum of 3 years laboratory experience or otherwise deemed competent by the management team.
2. A degree in a science-based subject is preferred.
3. Trainer representatives require 'Train the trainer' course attendance.
