Community Nursery Nurse - 30 hours per week
Community Nursery Nurses work as members of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) Team, across health visiting and school nursing services, in a community and public health context.

Main duties of the job
The role includes:
* Developmental assessments of young children
* Family support and advice on parenting and childcare in clinic, children's centres, and home settings - to individuals and groups
* Facilitating health promotion sessions in nurseries and schools
CNNs contribute to the public health agenda, which includes promoting school readiness, and to the integrated early help offer, in order to improve outcomes for children and families, and work closely with partner agencies in order to achieve this. CNNs undertake work delegated and supervised by Health Visitors and School Nurses, and may also be guided by Early Years Practice Managers.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Nursery Nurse qualification: NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/CACHE or Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice (OU) or Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Early Years or equivalent
* Good general level of education
* Excellent holistic understanding of early childhood development, including child health, communication, parenting styles, nutrition, behavior management
Knowledge
* Understanding of child safeguarding practice
* Understanding of relevant public health issues, including school readiness
* Understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Code of Practice
* Understanding of The Early Years Foundation Stage
Experience
* Experience of working with children and families
* Experience of team working and ability to manage own workload.
* Experience of group work with children and adults e.g. delivering parenting programmes, play and communication groups
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting
Skills and abilities
* Ability to travel around Tameside
* Good IT skills and familiar with standard software and systems (Microsoft Office)
* Able to travel efficiently between clinics and to clients' homes and delivery sites
