Home working, attendance at events in your region and regular evening work delivering events will be required. Interviews: Will be taking place on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th January 2025 Deliver impactful events that celebrate and elevate local talent in the film and TV industry. WFTV is seeking three freelance Event Managers based in Cardiff, Belfast and Glasgow/Edinburgh to assist with the delivery of WFTV’s regional events programme in these locations and build activity in hubs. The role of the Event Managers is to effectively deliver an events programme in the region and local marketing, overseen by the Senior Awards & Regional Events Producer, which reflects WFTV’s vision to support, connect, celebrate and represent all women working in the film and TV industry at every level. This role will be part of a small team of regional Event Managers based around the UK delivering events in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Key responsibilities Support the Senior Awards and Regional Events Producer on delivery of regional events programme, including the planning, production and logistics of regular events in your location; liaising with venues and suppliers, co-ordinating invites and guestlist, preparing event materials and schedules, independently delivering events on the day Contribute when and if required to capturing content for social media at events (on-site photography, or capturing content live at events) Liaise with guest speakers, collating assets as required for event marketing materials, ensuring panellists and guest speakers are briefed on key information and preparing event schedules as required Lead on outreach and the promotion of events in your region to identify and develop local audiences Represent and advocate on behalf of WFTV at events, build relationships with local stakeholders (e.g. WFTV members, venues, suppliers, industry partners) Follow health and safety procedures including updating and creating and/or contributing to event and project risk assessments, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at events Cost reporting to Senior Awards and Regional Events Producer on your events, including ensuring all invoices and event expenses are tracked and collating financial information for internal teams as required Contribute to ideation of potential events in your region, researching and recommending potential panellists, speakers, topics and local productions Ensure that feedback (both formal and informal) is reported back to the Senior Awards and Regional Events Producer and/or Head of Events, Awards and Partnerships Ensure that audience engagement and participation at events is recorded and reported in line with organisational feedback processes. Knowledge, skills and experience Experience planning and delivering events, projects or productions in film, TV or cultural sector Passion and knowledge of the film and TV industry and local production landscape Problem solver, calm under pressure and a positive can-do attitude Strong local network and contacts, knowledge of the industry in your location Strong administration skills and attention to detail Excellent people skills – including the ability to work with a broad range of external stakeholders Able to work flexibly, independently and as part of a small team Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive and experience using Canva is preferable.
