We are seeking a dynamic Property Counsel to join our legal team, focusing on supporting transactional work, managing legal suppliers, and ensuring financial control. You will play a key role in delivering innovative legal solutions and driving continuous improvements within our legal processes.
This position is crucial to the Estates project, overseeing Code Agreement, Lease, License, and Freehold Acquisition transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with Estates leads, ensuring timely and efficient legal completion, from instruction through to completion, aligned with monthly forecasts and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities of the Property Counsel (Estates) include:
* Consensual Deal Support:
* Leverage your telecoms lease knowledge to assist in managing transactions, working alongside legal suppliers and acquisition teams. Prior experience with the Electronic Communications Code (2017) is advantageous.
* Legal Supplier Management:
* Maintain and strengthen relationships with legal suppliers, ensuring transactions are handled efficiently and within budget. You will manage daily interactions, support training initiatives, and drive commercial value.
* Communication & Engagement:
* Oversee project governance, utilizing meetings, work streams, and team calls to ensure the smooth running of projects and timely resolution of issues.
* Updating Internal Systems & Reports:
* Maintain accurate records, update internal systems, and provide progress reports to senior management.
* General Legal Team Functions:
* Participate in departmental tasks, including organizing meetings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing legal training.
The successful Property Counsel (Estates) will have:
* Qualified solicitor with a current practicing certificate.
* Strong experience in commercial property law, particularly landlord and tenant matters.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to deliver clear legal advice with a commercial focus.
Desired:
* 2-3 years’ experience in commercial conveyancing transactions.
* Experience with the Electronic Communications Code (2017) and property litigation.
