Role title: Technical Accounting Manager

Purpose of role
The Ascot Lloyd group is one of the largest PE backed consolidators in the financial services industry. As the group grows, its statutory and financial reporting requirements are becoming ever more complex, both in the expanding size of the corporate structure and the increasing technical reporting requirements.
This role is required to work with the Senior Technical Accounting Manager and the Head of Statutory Reporting to assist with all aspects of the Group’s technical accounting, acquisition due diligence, reporting and integration, and external and regulatory financial reporting. You will be the key point of contact for the auditors, and will be required to liaise with all aspects of the business to deliver appropriate financial reporting solutions meeting the needs of all key stakeholders.
Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities
* Completing the monthly and yearly consolidation process, statutory accounting and other group reporting
* Providing key data for corporation tax reporting
* Full involvement in the external audit process, including leading discussions with auditors and other advisors and anticipating/resolving queries arising
* Assisting with financial and tax due diligence on potential acquisitions
* Reviewing completion accounts and determining final payments required, as well as ongoing monitoring and calculation of forecast contingent payments
* Production of technical papers detailing accounting treatment for any one off or complex accounting issues arising
* Financial reporting to regulators for regulated entities within the group
* Assisting with integrating the finance functions of acquired companies
* Assisting with company hive ups and simplification of group structures
* Assisting with identifying, documenting and implementing opportunities for process improvements within the finance team’s systems and controls
* Ongoing maintenance of group accounting manual for new standards and accounting requirements.
Job requirements/Skills
* ACA qualified with reputable firm
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
* Knowledge and experience of UK reporting requirements
* Experience of consolidations and acquisitions accounting
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Strong analytical and report writing skills.
* Good skills in Microsoft Office and other applications – strong Microsoft Excel skills including experience of PowerQuery would be especially beneficial but not essential
* Ability and willingness to work with areas of the business outside of finance at all levels to achieve desired outcomes
* Confidence and ability to support own views with evidence, and a willingness to challenge senior colleagues appropriately if required
* Ability to navigate differing requirements and priorities within the team to achieve desired results
