Job Title: Head of Engineering
Salary: To £95,000 plus excellent package
Location: Walsall, West Midlands UK
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership & Strategy: Define and implement the technical vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry trends.
2. Architecture & Scalability: Design and oversee scalable, secure, and high-performing architecture for our Salesforce-based solutions.
3. Engineering Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing engineering team of 60+ across the UK and India, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
4. Manage the delivery of the product & technical roadmap consistent with SDLC and Agile processes across the team.
5. Agile & DevSecOps: Champion modern engineering practices, including agile methodologies, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps.
6. Financial Management and Cost Control: Ensure clear accountabilities for budgets for tools and people across the engineering estate.
7. AI & Emerging Tech: Drive research and adoption of AI-powered solutions, automation, and other emerging technologies within their product roadmap.
8. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product management, customer service, and leadership teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
9. Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to security, regulatory, and quality standards relevant to their industry.
10. Identify and recommend external partners for the delivery of best-in-class technologies suitable for client applications where appropriate.
What You’ll Need:
Experience:
1. Experience managing international Software Development and Testing teams to deliver software that meets the needs of users, ideally within a Salesforce business.
2. Expertise in Salesforce development, architecture, and ecosystem.
3. Strong knowledge of scalable SaaS architectures, API design, and cloud-native technologies.
4. Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in an agile environment.
5. Proven experience in developing standards and process improvement.
6. A record of implementing mechanisms to monitor, manage, and provide progress on all software development activities.
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Skills:
1. Salesforce development and ecosystem.
2. Prince2, PMBoK or AgilePM qualifications.
3. ScrumMaster or Product Owner experience.
4. Agile DSDM or Scrum exposure.

1. Degree level qualified or relevant equivalent qualification or experience.
