This role offers the chance to be part of a team who pride themselves on offering mental health services to children and young people within the community. The current vacancy is within the children's eating disorder pathway.
We have several pathways within the service offering intervention to children and young people. Working closely with family, carers and the professional system to achieve the best possible outcomes and support healthy transitions.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join the dedicated Children's Community Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) which includes psychiatry, nursing, social workers, dietetics, psychology. The team is part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and the wider CYPS service within North Cumbria. We work closely with GP's, acute wards, in-patient services, other regional services, and providers. The Eating disorder team prides itself on delivering high-quality NICE-compliant therapeutic care to young people and families.
North Cumbria Children & Young peoples services (CYPS) has several bases at either West of the County or East of the County.
We work mainly in the community seeing children & young people and their families within clinics across the North of the County.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
Essential
1. Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
2. Mentor Training.
3. Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
4. Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
5. Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
6. Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
7. 12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need.
8. Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards and other local and national initiatives.
Desirable
9. Experience of working with eating disorders
Skills and Competencies
Essential
10. Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex mental health needs.
11. Risk Assessment and Risk Management / Safety Planning skills.
12. Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence based clinical approaches as identified in Guidance).
13. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
14. Evidence of a high level of professional, organisational and leadership skills (self & others).

15. Proven ability to develop therapeutic partnerships with Young people and families.
