The energy market is undergoing a seismic shift with the transition to NetZero and decarbonisation of the grid. We are looking for someone to lead our Future Energy Commercial team.
With in-depth experience of the energy industry and with a deep understanding of the commercial levers that drive the P&L, you will be perfectly positioned to provide clear leadership in the development of new revenue streams and propositions for the new world and to work closely with key stakeholders to turn your vision into reality. Your knowledge and expertise will ensure you are able to build enduring, mutually beneficial relationships with some of UW’s most strategic commercial partners. And your vision and drive will ensure that UW’s energy portfolio wins in the market and delivers for customers.
Here's the core skills and experience we're looking for:
3. You’ve accumulated substantial knowledge in the energy industry, with a depth of experience in driving positive commercial and risk management outcomes
4. You'll understand the future direction of the energy industry and have experience of implementing new revenue streams to drive growth

This role reports to our Energy Director and has responsibility for managing a small team of Commercial Analysts and Project Managers.
It's a highly collaborative role, working with a range of people across the business including Product, Marketing and Legal teams.
We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact.
You’ll be the UW expert in commercial implications of the energy transition, forming our positioning and developing strategy with the Energy Director, delivering new commercial opportunities and understanding and mitigating risks from the transition, both from an industry perspective and the competitive landscape.
Your core responsibilities will include:
14. Determine and implement UW’s approach to the future energy market
15. Create and optimise strategies to capture commercial value
16. Own and develop commercial models to support delivery of the UW energy P&L.
17. Ensure UW develops a deep understanding of the changes in the industry and competitor activity, seeking opportunities to deliver new revenue streams
18. Navigate through energy policy and regulatory consultation changes, while leveraging emerging consumer trends, product functionality and technology developments into our energy offering.
19. Determine pricing strategy for new energy products and offerings, ensuring compliance with the price cap, delivery of growth objectives, and cultivation of a healthy and profitable customer portfolio.
20. Work with the Product Team and other key commercial stakeholders to differentiate our proposition and create cut-through with our target segments
21. Manage a team of analysts and project managers to see concepts through to delivery
