Aardvark Swift is leading the exclusive search for a Senior UI Technical Artist for a well-established and respected game studio based in Guildford. The studio is currently developing an unannounced AAA free-to-play title, and they're looking for a talented UI Technical Artist to shape and enhance the art production pipeline.
As Senior UI Technical Artist, you'll work closely with the Art Director, Art Production Director, and a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain efficient art production pipelines.
This role can be worked from either Guildford, UK or Prague, Czechia on a hybrid basis of 1 day a week or 2 days once every 2 weeks. Plus, if you're relocating (with support and visa assistance available from the studio) you can work the initial 6 months remotely, should you wish, as you settle in to your new surroundings!
Your responsibilities...
* Creating and improving tools across UI disciplines
* Guiding the UI Tech team, and ensuring production aligns with the studio's technical standards
* Managing asset management, organisational file structures, and optimising performance
* Ensure best practice in art production flow
* Liaise with other teams to ensure smooth collaboration
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
* Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
* Strong understanding of UI development using Unreal Blueprints, 2D and 3D assets, shaders, and rendering pipelines
* Expertise in performance optimisation
* Familiarity with tools such as Renderdoc, Pix, and Unreal Insights
* Effective communication skills to provide feedback, collaborate across teams, and advocate for the needs of the UI department
Desirable but not essential skills...
* C++
* Shader development
* Procedural content generation using tools like Houdini Engine
