Principal Applied Psychologist
ARBD Unit Milestone House
Band 8a, 0.3 WTE (12 month fixed-term initially)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Applied Psychologist to work within Adult Mental Health/Substance Misuse. The post holder will be based in an inpatient Alcohol Related Brain Damage (ARBD) unit, located at Milestone House, in the south area of Edinburgh. The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering assessment, care planning and support to people admitted to the unit with suspected ARBD. The post-holder will be responsible for carrying out complex cognitive assessments, assisting in the formulation of multidisciplinary care plans, and offering psychosocial treatment and rehabilitation where appropriate. There will be opportunities for service development, evaluation and research. There will also be opportunities for supervising assistant psychologists and trainees.
The post is available in the first instance on a 12 month fixed-term contract. However, funding for this post may continue beyond this time in which case the contract may be extended.
