Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education offers an opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join schools across Dorchester. In this role, you will be providing invaluable support to students with a range of learning needs, including physical, sensory, and emotional disabilities. You will work alongside teachers to deliver tailored interventions, helping students engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and succeed in their educational journey.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be:
* Support students with special educational needs in class, helping them engage with lesson content.
* Assist with personal care and mobility where required.
* Provide one-to-one or small group interventions tailored to the needs of individual students.
* Support the emotional and social development of students.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
* Promote independence and help students build self-confidence in their learning.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
* Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Skills & Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
* Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
* A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
* A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
* Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
