Our client has a full-time Occupational Therapist permanent vacancy in their school in London. Our client requires an occupational therapist to join their multidisciplinary team who care for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs. The candidate they are looking for needs to be enthusiastic and energetic and able to engage our students to help them improve their skills for day-to-day and educational activities.

Occupational Therapist - Permanent
Salary: £40,000, part-time pro rata.
Location: London /Edgware
Hours: Full Time - Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:00pm, on Fridays from 8:45am to 12:30pm.

School is a specialist SEND unit set within a mainstream school, which enables our pupils to be part of a thriving school community whilst receiving specialist support and onsite therapies. They strive to provide effective, specialist education and support to pupils which will allow them to achieve their full potential in education and life.
Job Role:
1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans
2. Review goals and outcomes as presented in Education, Health and Care Plans and if necessary, establish new realistic goals with the pupil and staff
3. Keep up-to-date written and electronic records
4. Write reports and contribute to documentation required for each pupil
5. Attend multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing treatment
6. Advise fellow staff members on the needs of pupils
7. Coach pupils in practical and life skills, e.g., in handling money, writing, organisation, and social interaction
8. Treat pupils for their sensory needs, including creating sensory diets
9. Mentor pupils on how to control their own behaviour.
Requirements:
1. Applicants must have an OT qualification and be registered with the HCPC.
2. Experience of paediatric OT and sensory integration therapy is an advantage.
3. Well-developed communication skills in order to develop a therapeutic relationship with your patients

5. The ability to explain, encourage and build confidence
6. Observation skills
7. The ability to think outside the box and work under pressure
8. Decision-making skills and the ability to organise and plan your workload
9. A flexible approach to work
10. Assessment and report writing skills
