Job Description:
1. Responsible for assisting in offload/bunkering operations, gauging and sample collection from cargo and Slops tanks, dosing of chemicals in Slops, assisting in ODME operations, pump room duties, supporting Marine Supt on COW and Tank Cleaning operations, and Cargo/Slop tank isolation according to Marine Supt instruction. Routine maintenance of marine equipment is required to ensure that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and economically on the unit that he is assigned to, in compliance with MODEC procedures, national and international regulations and standards.
2. Assist in safe mooring/unmooring operations, cargo hose connection, bunker hose connection, monitoring of offloading cargo and bunkering operations, and collect samples during offload operations as per procedures, safety standards, task risk assessment, and toolbox instructions to ensure safety and compliance with internal and external procedures and regulations.
3. Contribute to the unit's annual budget planning (expenses and investments) by participating in corporate planning, providing information about resources, replacements, services, materials needs, and other expenses used in its activities, liaising with the Marine team to ensure accurate information.
4. Assist in checking the specification of loaded oil by gauging and sampling of the cargo and slop tanks.
5. Assist in checking FPSO integrity by checking soundings and gas levels inside void spaces.
6. Contribute to an effective response to emergencies on board by being part of the Emergency Response Team, participating in all trainings, simulations, and acting properly in a real situation, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, guidelines, as well as national and international regulations and best practices, to minimize impacts to people, the environment, assets, and the company's reputation.
7. Assist in reducing H2S levels in the slops by dosing Sodium Hypochlorite and Biocide in the Slop tanks as per Cargo Supervisor instructions.
8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of MdB fleet performance by participating or leading, when required, RCAs, investigations of NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, following up and acting upon CAPAs, sharing lessons learned, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement for performance and integrity enhancement opportunities.
9. Ensure the alignment of the employees with Company Objectives, Policies, Procedures, and integration with Clients, Community, Suppliers, and Modec do Brazil Executive Team by leading and engaging them, providing technical and behavioral guidance, feedback sessions, and clarifying the Career Path, in accordance with MdB's procedures and guides.
10. Communicate to the Cargo Supervisor all marine or safety systems' potential and actual incidents or defects, taking positive actions to stop hazards and unsafe behaviors, request technical advice as necessary, and prepare, follow up, and close out any necessary vendor assistance on board for the Marine department, in liaison with relevant leaderships.
11. If necessary, support in the activities of inspection of luggage, people, and cargo on disembarkation from offshore units, in compliance with NORMAM 27 – item 0115, regarding dangerous items handling.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. High School Degree is required.
2. Technical Degree or Petty Office Engineer (Able Seafarer Engine) is required.
3. Technician I/II/III/IV: Minimum 2/4/7 years' overall experience is expected.
4. Minimum 2 years' experience offshore on Oil tanker/LPGLNG/VLCC/F(P)SOs, with a minimum of 1 year' experience in Pumpman or Petty Officer Engineer position is expected.
