Salix, part of the RSK Group, is looking to appoint a Finance Manager on a full time, permanent basis. The role will be based out of their head office in Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire.
We are a respected and leading provider of sustainable solutions to river restoration and erosion control projects in the UK. We provide spillway and shoreline protection and inland dredging and wetland habitat creation schemes.
You will join Salix to provide proactive accounting support to the operational and commercial teams following a period of growth in our business to help maintain and grow our operational activities and standards.
Requirements:
1. Will have relevant financial management experience, preferably in an operational environment.
2. Studying for a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA); qualified to AAT.
3. Practical experience of CIS is preferred.
4. Must have an analytical approach with a strong attention to detail.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of systems including Excel, and willingness to learn to use new systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare financial analysis and commentary for inclusion in the monthly management report, including collation and review of other report sections.
2. Regularly review and periodically update standard product costs.
3. Obtain, interpret and analyse data and take a proactive role in helping the senior leadership team understand financial information.
4. Have full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Monitor general ledger transactions and prepare schedules for internal and external audits.
6. Process and reconcile intergroup transactions.
7. Have responsibility for year-end processes including ensuring year-end stock counts are carried out appropriately and that inventory is valued appropriately on the balance sheet.

The head office is in Thetford, Norfolk, while the other offices are in Staffordshire, Cheltenham, Swansea, and Inverness.
Salix provides specialist products and design-and-build services for river restoration and wetland habitat creation projects and applies soil-bioengineering solutions for soil and riverbank erosion-control schemes. We manufacture and supply broad-ranging soil erosion control and bioengineering products. We are the largest grower of native wetland plants in the UK. We are Europe's largest producer of coir fibre rolls, and we produce the world's highest performing range of reinforced turf.
Salix fields its own plant and experienced installation teams, supported by strong in-house technical support. Its aim when approaching projects is to complement the natural environment, add to biodiversity and improve water quality.
