We have a rare opportunity to shape this Venture from the ground up with support from the wider Ravensdown and Agnition teams who are committed to providing our people with all they need to positively thrive.
About the Company:
Agnition (Ravensdown Ventures Limited) is wholly owned by Ravensdown, a consumer co-operative driven by the needs of its shareholders, the land users of New Zealand. Agnition's mission is to find, build and invest in high-potential opportunities to solve real world challenges in the ag sector. We have a great opportunity to be a foundational anchor for a new high potential opportunity we're launching now.
About the Role:
Ever wanted to be part of something new? To set things up the right way from the start? We are looking for someone to lead the operations of our new Venture. Reporting through to the GM Innovation, you'll oversee the development and implementation of our go-to-market operational framework, including finalizing the details of our equipment design, supply chain, and customer engagement.
The new Venture has a 3+ year secure pipeline, so initial focus is on implementation over the next 12-18 months as we establish the business and rapidly deploy across New Zealand. The team will eventually expand to support our growth ambitions and aim to scale globally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the installation and commissioning of critical capital equipment, managing vendors and timelines to ensure timely delivery.
* Initially act as the primary point of contact for customers as the business scales, managing scheduling, communication, and service expectations. Eventually build out a customer service team.
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, efficient scheduling, and timely response to customer needs.
* Lead recruitment efforts for field personnel to support service operations, establishing best practices for onboarding, training, and performance management.
* Identify areas for improvement across operations, implementing solutions to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
* In conjunction with the commercialisation team, develop and execute a roadmap for national expansion, positioning the business for growth over the next 2-3 years.
* Analyse market adoption, operational data, and customer feedback to refine strategies for regional or national scaling.
* Demonstrate felt leadership in all aspects of the role with respect to health, safety, and wellbeing.
About You:
You are a trailblazer, ready to roll up your sleeves and lay the groundwork for something extraordinary. This role is about more than just managing operations—it's about building the foundation of a high-growth business that's poised to make an impact. You thrive in environments where no two days are the same, where strategic thinking meets hands-on execution, and where the decisions you make today will shape the trajectory of tomorrow.
You're someone who loves taking on a challenge and turning it into an opportunity. Whether it's overseeing the design of new equipment, creating seamless customer experiences, or designing processes from the ground up, you are energized by the prospect of building something new. You know how to inspire trust, lead by example, and rally others to achieve big goals.
This is a role for someone who is eager to leave their mark—not just by meeting expectations but by redefining what's possible. If the idea of shaping the future of a new venture excites you, we'd love to talk.
Skills and Experience Essential:
* 5+ years operations management experience, including leading operational teams.
* Proven experience in service-oriented operations, preferably within industrial, logistics, or agriculture sectors.
* Demonstrated success in operational build-out, project management, and establishing supply chain workflows.
* Strong experience in leading teams, including hiring, training, and managing field personnel.
* Exceptional customer communication skills, with a focus on service excellence.
* Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for process improvement.
* Ability to work closely with commercial and other cross-functional teams to ensure aligned business strategies.
* Tertiary education with a focus on operations.
* Experience working with farmers and the agriculture industry.
* A track record of building operations that scale successfully.
